Chandigarh: Schools in Haryana will reopen for students of Classes 3 to 5 from Wednesday, according to an order issued by the Department of School Education today.
The department issued orders for reopening of government and private primary schools in the state after they were closed for almost a year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
It said the schools in the state can function from 10:00AM to 1:30 PM.
Students who wish to take classes through the online mode, as has been the case over the last 10 months, can continue doing so.
Necessary protocols laid down by the government over COVID-19 will be followed. Schools have been asked to check the temperature of students and teachers before they enter the campus, and those displaying high temperatures will be denied entry.
Haryana schools reopened for higher classes in December last year while students of Classes 6 to 8 were allowed to attend from February 1 this year. The schools have been asked to follow guidelines related to face masks, sanitisers and social distancing.
Coronavirus cases have been decreasing in the state over the past few days while no COVID-19-related death has been reported in the last 24 hours. Haryana recorded 121 new coronavirus cases on Sunday, taking the total number of infections in the state to 2,69,730, a health department bulletin said.
